Why choose Wild Edge Retreat?
Opened in 2003, Wild Edge Retreat is one of the newest and most exclusive establishments in the Hunter Valley.
At present the Retreat only caters for a maximum of eight guests at any one time. (two guests in each Pavilion).
The road to the Retreat ends at the Retreat (no thoroughfare) ensuring no traffic noise.
Unlike other larger establishments, guests are provided personalised and individual attention.
We try and accommodate all requests for special arrangements
The Retreat does not permit anyone other than guests to explore the property.
Each Pavilion has been strategically designed to maximise guests privacy (each Pavilion is approximately 60 metres apart)
There are no loud party's permitted, in addition to the Retreat's strict no child policy.
The Retreat is the only establishment in the Hunter Valley to provide the elite BOSE stereo system.
The sunsets are stunning!
Although Winters are cold in the Hunter, the Retreat is located approximately 200 metres above the valley floor resulting in far
warmer temperatures overnight than in the Valley basin. As shown (left) the view from the spa is breathtaking.....
Upon your arrival in Winter, your fire is lit, the music is playing and the lights are dimmed so all you have to do is walk in, put the bags down and relax!
With fully self contained kitchens you don't have to leave the Retreat if
you don't want to.
Wollombi is close yet far enough from the main Hunter Wineries to enjoy that real "Retreat" feeling.
There are several restaurants and the famous Wollombi Tavern (Dr Jurds Jungle Juice) only eight minutes drive from the Retreat.
Exclusive use of a private swimming pool (Nature's Mist and Wind Spirit Pavilions only).
All Pavilions have an "Alang Alang" (Outdoor day bed) where you can relax, read a book, or whatever you want.
The Retreat is next door to the Corrobare State Forest and a short drive to Yengo National Park.
The nearest winery is approximately 12 minutes away, with
another 6-7 within 15 minutes drive.
For the adventurous executives, Helicopter flights from Sydney to Wollombi Tavern are available from Sydney International Airport.
